Ottawa Humane Society Improves Communication, Event, and Website Management with The Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud NetCommunity
Since 1888, The Ottawa Humane Society has provided a safe haven for sick, injured, and homeless animals in Ottawa. Each day the Ottawa Humane Society works in and with the community to provide leadership in the humane treatment of all animals, to address the causes of animal suffering, and to encourage people to take responsibility for their animal companions. Each year the community-based organization cares for 11,000 animals.
The Challenge With 3,000 monthly givers and many yearly events, the Ottawa Humane Society needed a way to process and organize information quickly as well as accept online donations and manage events. Knowing the giving history and donor communication preferences was also important to the staff.
The Solution The Ottawa Humane Society selected The Raiser’s Edge to easily process and manage monthly donations and the Volunteer module to manage volunteer job assignments and event staffing. The organization also implemented Blackbaud NetCommunity to manage its website and accept event registration and online donations.
