The American School of Japan The American School in Japan Uses Blackbaud’s Total School Solution™ To Manage Campus-Wide Connections
Founded in 1902, the American School in Japan is one of the oldest and most respected international institutions of its kind, providing students with a dynamic educational program in a unique learning environment.
The Challenge: With nearly 180 faculty members, 1,600 students, and different software systems supporting each of the school’s key offices, staff members at the American School in Japan were having difficulty communicating with the community consistently and keeping track of the fast-growing student population. The School needed a solution that would tie all of its administrative operations together and provide a single resource for student information across all offices.
The Solution: The American School in Japan replaced the programs they used in the registrar’s, business, and alumni offices with Blackbaud’s Total School Solution, which provided greater operational efficiency and simplified employee training from a week of intense classes to one day.
The Results: Approximately 180 employees from the admissions to the registrar’s office rely on a consolidated system of more than 40,000 administrative, financial, and alumni records, allowing staff to access and edit all information using a common interface. Using the online component of Blackbaud’s School Solution to communicate with parents, students, and alumni, and provide them with around-the-clock access to important school information.
