Marc Van Baar is the enterprise educational consulting manager at Blackbaud. His passion is — and has always been — training. Every position he has held with Blackbaud since 1997 involved either training or training management. Marc is originally from the Netherlands and moved to the United States 13 years ago after graduating with a BA in Marketing and management from the Nationale Hogeschool voor Toerisme en Verkeer. He regularly speaks at conferences throughout North America about Raiser’s Edge topics and training management.

Bruin Robinson is a solutions engineer for Blackbaud’s Canadian sales team. He has more than five years of experience at Blackbaud working with The Raiser’s Edge, The Financial Edge, Blackbaud NetCommunity, and Blackbaud’s Enterprise CRM solution. He has worked on multiple tiers of product involvement, starting in customer support, where he was a product support lead, to product development, where he was a software designer for The Raiser’s Edge and Blackbaud Enterprise CRM, and finally in sales, where he currently helps Canadian clients understand the benefits of working with Blackbaud.

Chris Geady is a senior solutions engineer with Blackbaud Canada, based in Toronto, Ontario. Chris works with all Canadian customers and prospects in a technical sales and consultative capacity. He has served as a Raiser’s Edge software instructor. Prior to joining Blackbaud, Chris worked in the nonprofit industry at a Blackbaud customer site for three years in an IT and development capacity. He holds an engineering physics degree and a certificate in database marketing.

Molly Maple is a senior solutions engineer specializing in Blackbaud NetCommunity and The Raiser’s Edge. She has been a software instructor, working on-site with clients using The Raiser’s Edge, Crystal Reports®, and Education Administration. Previously, she worked on the customer support team as a support specialist. As the child of a fundraiser, Molly got an early start working with major donors. She grew up visiting benefactors and attending fundraising events, and ran her first direct-mail campaign while she was a college student. After graduating from Georgia Tech, Molly spent time working for the South Carolina Aquarium before she began at Blackbaud.

Tiffany Elser is a senior solutions engineer for Blackbaud’s enterprise solutions team. She was previously a software instructor product lead, traveling across the United Stated and abroad training clients on all Blackbaud products. She has also worked on the customer support education team as a quality specialist, responsible for training analysts on product and technical knowledge and customer service skills. Tiffany is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, with a degree in marketing and human resources management. Tiffany regularly speaks at Blackbaud and industry conferences and serves on the annual fund and endowment fundraising committee of the Junior League of Charleston.

After graduating from The Citadel, Bob Duckworth worked for a provider of software and services for the nonprofit community for 12 years. That eventually led to a position at his alma mater, The Citadel, as the director of development of The Citadel School of Business Administration on their first $100 million capital campaign. Currently, he is vice president/executive director of St. Josephs/Candler Foundations. Bob completed his Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Development at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Shawn Poland has been working in a senior development role as executive director of the Cambrian Foundation since 2004. He is past president of the Laurentian University Alumni Association where he also served on the Institutions Board of Governors. Since joining Cambrian College, Shawn has been appointed to posts at the provincial and national level with College Committee for Advancement and the Canadian Unity Council. Shawn holds a Master of Arts degree in Humanities, and is currently completing his Master of Arts in Philanthropy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.

Gregory Heath is an enterprise senior solutions engineer, and has been a member of the Blackbaud team since October, 1997. During his tenure, Gregory has held positions in Customer Support, Professional Services, and Sales. Gregory is currently focused on delivering enterprise solutions to large national charitable organizations and universities.
Gregory is originally from Baltimore, Maryland; he moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 1992 where he attended, and graduated from, the College of Charleston.

David Kilmer is a lead solutions engineer at Blackbaud. Before joining the company, he worked as a high school mathematics teacher. At Blackbaud, he has served as a trainer for support education and as a customer support analyst for The Financial Edge. Voted the top speaker at Blackbaud’s 2005 and 2007 Conferences in Charleston, South Carolina, as well Blackbaud’s Conferences in Canada in 2007 and 2008, David has a degree in mathematics with a concentration in applied mathematics from Western Connecticut State University.

Mark Davis is vice president of technical sales and support based in San Diego for the Blackbaud Internet Solutions Division. He has worked directly with many of the largest nonprofits in the industry, such as American Heart Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and Arthritis Foundation, helping to deploy online fundraising solutions. As one of the original architects of Friends Asking Friends technology, he has actively participated in the development of the Blackbaud Sphere product. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Duke University and a master’s degree in engineering from Stanford University.

Lawrence has more than 15 years of experience in development, raising more than $125 million. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Carroll College in Wisconsin, a master’s degree in public policy and administration, and a law degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

His clients raise from $25,000 to nearly $6 million per event.Jay is the founder of Northwest Benefit Auctions, inc. which specializes in charity auctions, and he is the co-founder of Maestrosoft, Inc. which supplies software for charity auction and golf tournament management. Maestrosoft is a Blackbaud partner, and AuctionMaestro Pro is integrated with The Raiser’s Edge 7. Along with his wife, Corinne, he is the co-author of the definitive book on charity auctions, The Big Book of Benefit Auctions.

Chad is editor-in-chief of Blackbaud Blogs, where he also writes his own blog, Webby Things. As host and producer of The Baudcast, he brings together industry experts from around the world to discuss nonprofit technology issues on this biweekly podcast. In 2007, Chad founded Go Green Charleston, a technology-focused nonprofit that helps Charleston-area residents connect, stay informed, and mobilize around local environmental issues.
