(Clients running other versions of 7.X must complete an intermediate upgrade before upgrading to 7.30). BEFORE YOU BEGIN ================= Ensure that you have a current backup of your entire system. Do not rely solely on a backup of your FundWare divisions. KNOWLEDGEBASE ================ Based upon your Organization's service level agreement with Public Sector Solutions, you can access our powerful knowledgebase to find answers to your questions. All known issues, workarounds, and recovery instructions are documented in our knowledgebase, which can be accessed at: http://www.fundware.com/Support/support.asp F9 == If you have F9, you must download and install the updated DLL from the Support Web site. KNOWN ISSUES ============= Installation If you install Fundware to Windows 2003 Server, you must update your system according to Microsoft instructions. Associated with this issue, you may receive the following error message: "Setup Library wbemupgd.dll could not be loaded, or function OcEntry could not be found. Contact your system administrator." The specific error code is 0x7e. --Workaround: Adjust your system according to Microsoft Knowledgebase document 826282 - "Snap-in Failed to Initialize" Error Message When You Open Microsoft Management Console (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;826282). If the installation process is complete, but the program remains visible in the Windows taskbar, you must use your Task Manager to close the process. If your system has SQL 2000 installed, you should ensure that the program has been upgraded to Service Pack 3a. This service pack repairs certain vulnerabilities to computer viruses. You can install FundWare without upgrading to this service pack, but we strongly recommend that you update your system. --Workaround: Visit the Microsoft Web site (www.microsoft.com) for the most current update to SQL. If you are a 5.8 customer using only Project/Grant (not General Ledger), you must not attempt to upgrade without assistance (e.g., Professional Services, value-added reseller). The convert process will fail and could damage your data. --Workaround: Add a General Ledger ID type to your system before beginning the installation process. Convert If you receive any messages during the convert process, you should review this information carefully. --Workaround: If necessary, contact the Support department for assistance with messages. If you receive a message during convert that the program "Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'GLAccount' with unique index 'IX_GLAccount'," this indicates that your database includes duplicate accounts. --Workaround: Contact Support for assistance running the CSTZCSI program. Instructions for this program are also included in the Support Knowledgebase. System-Wide Online help requires Internet Explorer (IE) 5.0 or greater. If IE 4.0 is installed, and you upgrade to IE 4.0 Service Pack 2, online help will not work. --Workaround: You must directly upgrade from IE 4.0 to 5.0. If you have multiple instances of the program open, and are opening and closing tasks, certain tasks may become disabled. --Workaround: Close and re-open FundWare. (Issue corrected in 7.30 Service Pack 1.) General Ledger-Project/Grant Version 7.30 allows you to define dimension values (Maintenance > Dimensions). However, many tasks (e.g., Account Utilities, imports) allow you to add accounts using dimension values not defined through dimension maintenance. These new dimension values will not appear in the Maintenance > Dimensions display or be available in account creation tasks (e.g., Account Builder). --Workaround: Add the dimension values manually through the Maintenance > Dimensions task. (Issue corrected in 7.30 Service Pack 1.) When using the Account Builder with the "Values and Descriptions" setting, the descriptions will not display after you press Validate Accounts. --Workaround: None. When using the Account Builder, a conflict can result when one ID type is selected (or defaulted), but you then open and validate accounts for another ID type that has more dimensions. --Workaround: Close and re-open Account Builder. Ensure that the selected ID type matches the ID type of the saved settings that you want to open. When producing reports from the HomePage, you may receive an error if you select a GL ID type but attempt to produce a report that has been defined for P/G ID types. The error will indicate that the system was unable to find the output file. --Workaround: Dismiss the error, select the correct ID type, and click the report to produce. The Print and Delete access keys are disabled in the Maintenance > Dimensions window. --Workaround: Use the mouse to access these features, or press SHIFT + F10 to access the shortcut menu. The Print access key is disabled in the Journal Entries > Posted window. --Workaround: Use the mouse to access this features, or press SHIFT + F10 to access the shortcut menu. (Issue corrected in 7.30 Service Pack 1.) Accounts Receivable A "referenced memory" error may occur when you close FundWare after drilling down on customer activity in Accounts Receivable. --Workaround: Click OK to dismiss the error. No data is affected by this error and it will be corrected in a future service pack. Transaction imports will receive an error message concerning licensing. --Workaround: Download and install the applicable hot fix from the Support Web site. (Issue corrected in 7.30 Service Pack 1.) Cash Receipts A "referenced memory" error may occur when you close FundWare after drilling down on customer activity in Accounts Receivable. --Workaround: Click OK to dismiss the error. No data is affected by this error and it will be corrected in a future service pack. HomePage If you change your business date then produce a report from the HomePage, the report date defaults to the original business date. --Workaround: Change the business date on the report parameters window. You can also close, then re-open the HomePage, or open a new instance of FundWare using the correct business date and produce your reports from this instance. (Issue corrected in 7.30 Service Pack 1.) Payroll/Personnel The convert process may not handle certain data items correctly. --Workaround: Before beginning the upgrade process, we recommend that you review Field 1 of the Payroll parameter. If Salary = 1, Hourly = 1, or Other = 1, then review the definitions for the following data items: .H DEPT, .H GLA, and .O GLA. Each of these should have at least one edit value. Please add edit values if they do not currently exist. If Salary, Hourly and Other have no 1's in Field 1 of the parameter, then no further steps are necessary. If you are installing Payroll as a new client and have no departmentalized earning types defined in the parameter record, you may receive an error message when you attempt to add a new employee. --Workaround: Download and install the applicable hot fix from the Support Web site. Report Manager Report columns that exceed the printable area of the report are removed from the printed report. --Workaround: Reduce column widths until all columns are included in the printed report. System Administration In the Division Maintenance window, the Division ID text box will accept entry, even if you do not click "New." However, the remaining fields will not accept entries until you click "New." --Workaround: Always click "New" to define a new division. If you are a user on a Windows XP machine, but are not assigned to the Administrator group for the PC (Windows XP security setting, not FundWare security setting), you may not have access to certain Division Maintenance tasks. --Workaround: Ensure that the user is assigned to the Windows XP Administrator group. The View option is not included in the security options for the Views and Distribution Tables tasks. --Workaround: None. You must select one of the remaining security options. User security is not reflected until you exit System Administration. --Workaround: When defining security rights for users, you must make your changes through System Administration and exit FundWare before the user will be allowed access to their new security settings. Advanced Security The New Account task may respect Advanced Security restrictions defined for General Ledger, even if the user's security level is 1. --Workaround: If a user's security level is 1, delete any Read or Update account masks. (Issue corrected in 7.30 Service Pack 1.) Certain General Ledger tasks may respect Advanced Security restrictions defined for General Ledger, even if the user's Application Restriction setting for General Ledger is "N." --Workaround: Ensure that the user's Read and Update account masks allow them to complete any required tasks in General Ledger. (Issue corrected in 7.30 Service Pack 1.)
