We are pleased to send you The Raiser's Edge 7.6. Before you begin using the program, take a moment to review the following notes, which highlight a few of the new features. It is important to share this information with all Raiser's Edge users in your organization. A shortcut to the Release Notes for The Raiser's Edge has been added to your desktop, so you can access these notes at any time.
New Feature Highlights:
The
Raiser's Edge 7 now uses a Microsoft SQL Server 2000
database. SQL Server databases are fast, reliable, and easy to
maintain. SQL Server offers many benefits and includes an efficient
engine capable of processing millions of transactions. For more information about the
SQL
Server database, see the
Database Administration Guide.
The Blackbaud
Management Console (BMC) is now available with both the standalone and
network versions of The Raiser's Edge.
The BMC includes a number of new features: you can send
e-mail messages to users; attach databases; take databases offline (so they
are unavailable to workstations and cannot be modified until you bring them
back online); and schedule maintenance.
For more information about the BMC, see the
Database Administration Guide.
If you have both The Raiser's Edge 7.6 and The Financial Edge 7.2, additional integration options are now available.
You can now track Financial Edge expenses directly from your appeal and
event records using Financial Edge transaction codes.
Filter
options have been added to Post to General Ledger. Located on a new Gifts
tab, you can select to post using a query of gift records, by the Gift Date
or the GL Post Date, or by selecting certain funds. Additionally, using
Post to General Ledger, you can now view a list of gifts marked Not Posted
with post dates in closed accounting periods, before you post gifts to
The Financial Edge. To post the gifts successfully, you can
change the post dates for open accounting periods on the new Gifts to be
Posted to Closed Accounting Periods screen.
You can now
add saved Raiser's Edge funds as General Ledger
projects directly from the fund record. You can also open Financial Edge projects from
a
Raiser's Edge fund record.
For more information, see
The Raiser's
Edge and The Financial Edge: An Integrated Solution for Nonprofits.
The Open
screen for constituents now contains Credit card no. and Bank acct. no.
fields so you can base constituent searches on this information. Because you
may receive bank statements that show only a constituent’s last name, first
initial, and account number for Direct Debits, these new fields can make
locating the matching constituent much easier. For more information about the Open screen, see the
Program Basics Guide.
The optional module RE:NetSolutions includes a number of enhancements. You can now tile images. Also, a From field is now available on the Mail screen in RE:NetMail so you can personalize your e-mail messages with individual names. Additionally, you can now know when e-mail messages sent through RE:NetMail are returned to Blackbaud's server as undeliverable. Using the Download Transactions link, you can see which constituent e-mail addresses failed. You can also create a query of these records. For more information about these features, see the NetSolutions Guide.
