We are pleased to send you The Raiser's Edge 7.71. Before you begin using the program, take a moment to review the following notes, which highlight some of the new features. It is important to share this information with all Raiser's Edge users in your organization. A shortcut to the Release Notes for The Raiser's Edge has been added to your desktop, so you can access these notes at any time.
Raiser's Edge New Feature Highlights:
With the release of The Education Edge 7.5, you will have the ability to integrate The Raiser's Edge 7.71 and The Education Edge 7.5 and share information between the databases. Integrated features include an integration checklist, establishing matching criteria for both programs, linked records, synchronized data, and reports that analyze the integrated data. In addition, you can define fields and record types that are shared between the two programs. These features will be accessible from The Raiser's Edge and The Education Edge. For more information about the release of The Education Edge 7.5, see www.blackbaud.com.
An Education Edge link is now available in Configuration to take you to a page with links to access your Raiser's Edge integration with The Education Edge 7.5. The link appears only if The Education Edge is installed and the integration has been unlocked in The Education Edge.
Nonconstituent relationships can now be shared between constituents. For example, a child who is not a constituent in your database can exist as a single nonconstituent relationship record on both parents' constituent record Relationships tabs. Using the new Nonconstituent Merge Utility on the Plug-Ins page, you can merge selected nonconstituent relationship records in your database and delete the source records. For more information, see the Constituent Data Entry Guide.
From Open screens for individual, organization, and spouse relationships, you can now search for nonconstituent relationships.
On the Actions tab of constituent records, we added two new columns: Notepad Description and Notes.
Phone numbers can now be shared between constituents. When you copy and link (share) an address from one constituent record to another, or from a constituent record to a relationship record, numbers in the Phones/Email/Links grid are also shared. From Tables, in Configuration, you must set up which phone types can be shared. For more information, see the Constituent Data Entry Guide.
In Configuration Tables, Phone Type table entries now feature the Do not share phones of this type checkbox. Mark this checkbox if you do not want to share this type of phone number when you copy and link (share) addresses from one constituent record to another, or from constituent records to relationship records. For more information, see the Configuration chapter of the Configuration & Security Guide.
If you have the Address Validation Data Enrichment Service, new General business rule options provide alternatives to the USPS-preferred format during address validation. For more information, see the Configuration chapter of the Configuration & Security Guide and the Address Validation chapter of the Data Enrichment Services Guide.
We added eReceipts functionality to Receipts in Mail. To send electronic receipts to constituents, you must have NetSolutions or Blackbaud NetCommunity. When you have NetSolutions or Blackbaud NetCommunity, an eReceipts tab appears on the Receipts mail task when you select Create custom data file in the Receipt type field on the General tab. For information about registering NetSolutions, see the Registering with NetSolutions chapter in the NetSolutions Guide. For information about Blackbaud NetCommunity, send an email to solutions@blackbaud.com. For more information about eReceipts, see the Mail Guide.
When you work with eReceipts, you must specify an SMTP mail server and port number to be used when sending electronic receipts. You must specify these settings using the new Mail options link on the Business Rules page of Configuration. These options are available only if you have NetSolutions or Blackbaud NetCommunity. For more information about eReceipts, see the Mail Guide.
The Raiser's Edge 7.71 includes support for the optional module WealthPoint for The Raiser's Edge. WealthPoint is Blackbaud's wealth identification and information service. It provides detailed financial, biographical, and demographic information about prospects in your database. With WealthPoint for The Raiser's Edge, you can perform an integrated online wealth profile search from individual records in The Raiser's Edge. This information can then be automatically transferred to your Raiser's Edge constituent records. For more information about installing WealthPoint for The Raiser's Edge, see The Raiser' Edge 7.71 Update Guide.
In Samples, we have included the sample export Auction Tracker Export version 5.5 for transferring information from The Raiser's Edge 7.71 to Auction Tracker 5.5. For information about samples, see the Program Basics Guide. For information about this sample export, see the Knowledgebase.
