Guided Screen Sharing FAQs
How does guided screen sharing work? To start the session, you'll be prompted to download a small application that enables us to see your computer and control your mouse and keyboard. You can retake control at any time by simply moving your mouse or pausing the session.
Can you look through files on my computer without my knowledge? Rest assured, we only see what you see on your screen. If we think it will be helpful to open a file on your computer, we'll request your permission before proceeding.
Can you see everything on my screen? Yes, but we respect your privacy. Before starting the session, we'll ask you to close any confidential documents that you do not want us to see.
Is guided screen sharing safe and virus-free? You bet! We perform regular virus checks and updates to maintain our technology at the highest standard. The warning message you may see on your screen is a default message your browser displays whenever you download an executable file.
Can I save the chat dialogue from my session? Sure; select File, Save Chat Log from the chat box menu bar. The file is saved as "ecchat.txt" by default, but you can rename it. After you save the session, you can also open the file and print your chat dialogue.
