Charleston Community Invited to a Volunteer Fair Hosted by Blackbaud

Those interested in volunteering for local nonprofits should attend

Blackbaud, Inc (Nasdaq: BLKB), the leading global provider of nonprofit software and services, will host a community-wide volunteer fair, matching employees and members of the community with nonprofit volunteer opportunities.  There will be 40 local nonprofits in the atrium with informational tables looking to raise awareness about the opportunities at their organizations. The volunteer fair is open to the entire Lowcountry community.

Nonprofit Organizations in attendance include: American Red Cross, Crisis Ministries, Lowcountry Food bank, Salvation Army, Pet Helpers, Greater Park Circle Film Society, Fields to Families and more. Each nonprofit will have a table set up where attendees can learn about the mission and what it means to volunteer.

In collaboration with the volunteer fair, Trident United Way will launch the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) during the fair. The CVC is a coalition of business, government and community leaders who seek to increase workplace volunteerism throughout the region.  The CVC hopes to leverage workplace volunteerism best practices to raise awareness and improve volunteer coordination activities throughout the tri-county area.

Wednesday, May 26, 2010

The fair will be open to the community from 4 to 7 p.m. ET

The CVC will be launched at 6 p.m. with short remarks from community leaders.
