Speaker ResourcesThank you for your interest in speaking at Blackbaud’s annual Conference for Nonprofits, November 15-18 in Charleston, SC. The main goal of our Conference is to provide a worthwhile experience for attendees to learn, network, and have fun. This event provides an excellent platform for expert speakers to share their knowledge.
Here are some documents that you may find helpful as you prepare for the Conference. We will be updating this page with additional information, so please check back later.
Social Media at the Conference
We encourage all speakers, attendees, and employees to use social media throughout the conference. Twitter is a great place to post live updates, Flickr is a great site to share photos, and Delicious is a great way to share links from your presentations. If you use these services to post Conference-related content, please tag items with "BBCon", or "#BBCon" for Twitter udpates. We'll also be posting materials on our Facebook page and YouTube channel after the event.
About the Sessions
Sessions are divided into tracks so that the attendees can focus on their areas of interest. Some tracks are related directly to Blackbaud technology, while others are developed around nonprofit issues. A sample of popular topics include accountability, stewardship, Internet trends, giving patterns, marketing, financial management, prospecting and analysis, reporting, and much more!
About the Attendees
Our attendees are the heart of our Conferences. Here are facts about the people who may attend your session:
- Attendees come from across the United States and Canada.
- They represent a variety of nonprofit organizations. (The largest percentage of attendees are from the healthcare and education sectors.)
- They hold an array of job titles including database administrators, development directors, marketing professionals, finance officers, and executive directors (to name a few).
What we’re looking for from speakers
We're looking for vision, inspiration, knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and key take-aways that can be applied by others.
- Energetic Delivery
We'd like your 75-minute session to have an interactive approach if possible (we'd like you to involve attendees instead of just present to them), and ample time for Q&A.
- Commitment to Respond
Our attendees expect our speakers to carry the learning and networking beyond the event, so be be prepared to respond to questions after the session.
- Participation in Event
To the extent that you can, we encourage speakers to attend the entire event. As a thank you for presenting, you will be given a complimentary registration, and you'll be considered a full Conference attendee (travel and lodging expenses will not be covered).
