Where does the money go?

Donors are more likely to donate to charities benefiting their local communities (53%), followed by Canada as a whole (31%), the international community (9%), and developing countries (4%). [5]

Overall giving increased in Canada in 2018 and online giving increased significantly. More than half of donors say they prefer to give to organizations that benefit their local communities, with health, social services, and children’s charities were noted as the top priority causes.
