No, you do not need to have a Raiser's Edge account. Raiser's Edge is used a lot in examples because Raiser's Edge NXT has single sign-on already enabled.

Once your organization is enabled for the Blackbaud Omnibar, all you need to have to use ResearchPoint is a Blackbaud.com single sign-on account. This one account is what you will use to log in to ResearchPoint, chat with Support, log into the Blackbaud Communities, access Training resources, and more. Over time, Blackbaud will continue to expand what you can do with your single sign-on account.
