Fix User Conflicts

In the Online Admissions and Online Reenrollment plug-in you can view and resolve user record conflicts. A conflict occurs when a Blackbaud NetCommunity user submits an online form, the program attempts to link the form to The Education Edge record but it cannot because the record is already linked to a different NetCommunity user. For example, a student forgets his previous NetCommunity user account and password, which is linked to his student record in The Education Edge. Instead, if he creates a new NetCommunity account and submits the form, The Education Edge registers a conflict.

If you have any conflicts, in the records grid, in the Match Status column, User Conflict appears if The Education Edge record is already linked to a NetCommunity user. In the records grid, select the form, and from the menu bar, click Edit, Fix User Conflict. The Fix user conflict screen appears for you to select which record in The Education Edge to link the NetCommunity user and the completed form.

If you select to keep the Online Admissions and Online Reenrollment login information previously linked to the The Education Edge record and disregard the new Online Admissions and Online Reenrollment login information, The Education Edge record is still updated with the new form information but the user needs to use the old Blackbaud NetCommunity login credentials. If you select this option, we recommend you send a notification to the student or relative with the previously set up login ID and password.

If you select to link The Education Edge record to the new Blackbaud NetCommunity user, the old NetCommunity user is unlinked but is not deleted from the Blackbaud NetCommunity. The new Blackbaud NetCommunity user login information is then linked to the The Education Edge record and the record updates with the new form information.
