Merge Two Selections

You can merge two selections together to create a new selection. For example, you can merge two constituent selections to create a selection of recipients for a communication. To help you visualize the selections and how their records relate to one another, the program provides a Venn diagram to represent each merge option. When you build a merged selection, you select the merge option to use based on the records to include in the new selection.

Note: A Venn diagram depicts two circles — one for each selection used to build the merged selection — that overlap in the middle. The middle section of the diagram, where the circles overlap, represents the records that appear in both selections. The outer sections represent the records that appear in each respective selection but not the other.
