System Notifications are automated messages that confirm changes or alert constituents of updates in the system. For example, with Giving, donors can receive an e-mail that confirms that their gift was submitted, and administrators can receive an e-mail alerting them that a gift needs to be processed.

When Personal Notifications are used, constituents can also sign up to receive e-mail and/or text messages when changes or updates occur. For example, constituents can receive an e-mail and/or text message alerting them that a new announcement or news story has been posted. Constituents will choose which notifications to receive and the delivery method (e-mail and/or text message) they prefer.
