Medical Work Lists

The school nurse can create customized work lists of students and their medical data. These lists are dynamic, so they always show the most recent student data.

For example, you may want to view a list of students in a specific grade, sorted by name, who have a peanut allergy.

Additionally, consider that:

  • Only users with the Nurse role can access medical work lists.

  • Nurses can determine if other nurses can access or manage their lists

To get started:

  1. Sign in as a nurse.

  2. Go to the Nurse's Office.

  3. Under Administrative tasks, select Manage medical lists.

  1. Select Build a new list

  2. Select between the prebuilt list options. Each list option will emphasize details differently and employ filters that correspond with the list type.

  3. Adjust the Columns and Filters to meet your needs.

  4. Save and/or Export the list when finished.

  5. Determine the list's name and to what extent other nurses can view and manage the access permissions to it.

  6. Select Save

Tip: If you're already working with a work list, click New to create another one and enter a name. By default the new list has same column, filter, and sort options, but you can change it.

  1. On the work list row, select the title of the list.

  2. Adjust the list to meet your needs.

  3. Refresh to update results with changes.

  4. Save and/or Export the list when finished.

From a work list, select Choose Columns.

  • Choose the columns of data you want to view

  • Select Apply changes

  • Select a column header and drag it to reorder column

From a work list, select Filters.

  • Select the values that correspond to the information you want to view.

  • Enter the filter criteria.

  • Select Apply filters.

  • To cancel all filters, click Clear.

Tip: To quickly cancel a single filter, above the grid of student data click X on the filter.

If you open a list and then student data is updated, your list may not automatically show the updates in real time. Click Refresh. The list shows the most recent data as of the moment you refreshed the list.

Select a column header to sort the list in ascending order based on values in that column.

Select the header again to sort in descending order.

Nurses can determine if other nurses can access or view their lists.

To get started, select the context menu beside a medical list in the row, and select Edit details:

  • No one can access
    Only the nurse that created the list may view or modify it.

  • Others can view
    All nurses can view the contents of the list. They can also change columns and save the list with the new formatting and filtering in place.

  • Others can manage
    All nurses can view and manage the access permissions for the list.

Lists can only be deleted by the nurse that created them, regardless of the access permissions.

A school nurse can create a list of students with athletic clearance information to verify they are eligible to play sports for the year.

  1. Select Build a new list.

  2. Select Student Athletic Clearance List.

  3. A new list will appear. By default it will only display athletic clearances for the current school year. To change this, select Filters, change the school year, and select Apply filters.

    Note: Each athletic clearance will appear as its own row on the list, so if a student has multiple athletic clearances, their name will appear multiple times. Inactive clearances that have already been marked completed will be included on the list.

  4. You can select Columns to add or remove columns, Save the list of future reference, or Export it as a CSV spreadsheet file.

In the event of an outbreak of contagious illness, consider sending a communication to individuals who may have been exposed.

To identify potential recipients,

  • teachers should review the seating charts for their classes to view who are at the most risk due to close contact with an infected individual. To create a digital version, see seating charts.

  • a list manager should create a advanced list to review who may have been present and in proximity during a class or other activity.

    1. Go to Core.

    2. Select Reporting.

    3. Select Manage lists.

    4. Select Manage basic and advanced lists.

    5. Select List templates.

    6. Choose Group contact tracing for the Template category.
