Educational Insights

To help ease common analysis of tasks and interactions,Blackbaud Education Management provides several constituent insights out-of-the-box in Analysis. When you search for an insight, any insight which is not provided out-of-the-box is labeled as "Custom insight."

  • To view an insight in Insights, select Open, and search by its name or select it under all.

  • To add an insight to a dashboard in Dashboard builder, search by its name under Saved insights and move it to the dashboard.

  • To save any additional filters or other changes to an insight, select Save as new to create a custom insight.

Unlike the legacy reports from Education Management, insights in SKY Reporting count users based only on their primary persona.

The primary persona determines how people are counted. It's the first persona they use from this list:

  1. Faculty

  2. Parent

  3. Student

  4. Alum

  5. Friend

  6. Other

For example, when you view logins for parents, the parent persona includes all available parent roles, such as

  • parent of past candidate,

  • parent of incoming student,

  • parent,

  • parent of alum,

  • and others.

From Core

  • A count of current students

  • Filtered to all school years

  • A count of messages

  • Stacked by primary persona

  • Filtered to events for all time

Note: Data only appears if messages were already enabled from Core, Settings, Inbox settings.

  • A count of unique user logins

  • Trend by dates, grouped by week (Sunday to Saturday)

  • Segment by primary persona

  • Filtered to events from the last 90 days

If a user logs in three times on Monday and twice on Tuesday, this only counts as one unique visit in that week because additional logins are not counted as unique or new.

From Enrollment management

  • A count of candidates with the school decision type "accepted"

  • Filtered to all school years

  • A count of candidates

  • Viewed by candidate status

  • Filtered to all candidate statuses

  • Filtered to all school years

  • A count of candidates

  • Viewed by "how hear"

  • Filtered to all "how hear"

  • A count of contacts with a status submitted or processed

  • Viewed by school year

  • Stacked by new or returning

  • Filtered to all school years

  • A count of section enrollments

  • Trend by term
