Design a Chart Template

A chart template is a visual representation of all or selected accounts from the general ledger.

Tip: To create an editable copy of the template, from the database view, open an existing template and select Save as.

Use a category's menu to build and design your report to reflect balance sheet and income statement information. You can also use the menu to move lines up, down, left, or right as needed.

  • Insert a detail line as a child - Insert a new account detail line below the Balance Sheet or Income Statement lines.

  • Insert a header/total as a child - Insert a new header/total line below the Balance Sheet or Income Statement lines.

  • Insert a detail line at this level - Insert a new account detail line at the selected line in the tree view.

  • Insert a detail line under this header/total - Insert a new account detail line below the selected line in the tree view.

  • Insert a header/total at this level - Insert a new header/total line at same level as the selected line in the tree view.

  • Insert a header/total under this header/total - Insert a new header/total line below the selected line in the tree view.

  • Delete - Choose a line in the tree view and select Delete. When you delete a header/total in the tree view, all nested line items are also deleted.

  • Move up, down, left, right - Change the level and position of a selected line in the tree view.

    Tip: In addition to using these menu options to move the level and position of a line, you can also drag and drop lines to different locations.
