On the Edit MICR line page, you define your default MICR line settings for your checks. The MICR line is required by your bank and is used to identify blank paper checks and transfer funds. You must work with your bank and follow the rules set forth by the American Bankers Association to ensure you format the line correctly.
Note: The MICR line and ABA number you format on this screen is used only for the bank account in which you are working.
To access the MICR setting page, select MICR Line on the Edit content tab of the Format Check Settings page.
Under Preview, you can verify your MICR line settings display correctly as you make your selections.
Under Auxiliary on-us field, select the maximum number of characters for the check number field. You can use from one to nine characters.
In the Field/Character column, select the characters to appear in the auxiliary segment of the MICR line. You can select "Blank," “Check number," “On-Us symbol," “Dash symbol," or “User-defined.”
In the Position Value column, select the position of the character. The Value column displays the character selected. The Value column is non-editable for all field/character options except “User-defined”, for which you can enter any numeric characters. You can add an additional field/character if necessary.
Under Routing field, specify how the routing number displays. You can select "Blank," “Routing number,” “Transit symbol,” “Dash symbol,” or “User-defined.”

The Value column is non-editable for all field/character options except “User-defined”, for which you can enter any numeric characters. You can add an additional field/character if necessary.
Under On-Us field, select the characters to appear in the On-Us segment of the MICR line. You can select "Blank," “Account number,” “On-Us symbol,” “Dash symbol,” or “User-defined.”
In the Position Value column, select the position of the character. The Value column displays the character selected. The Value column is non-editable for all field/character options except “User-defined”, for which you can enter any numeric characters. You can add an additional field/character if necessary.
To save the MICR line formatting selections and return to the Edit content tab, select Save.
