Invitation Process FAQ
Your organization admin identifies and adds the first solution admin for your Blackbaud solutions. The solution admin receives a unique email invitation from Blackbaud to create their Blackbaud ID. After completing the invitation process, solution admins can add users and other solution admins.
If your organization uses multiple Blackbaud solutions, your organization admin identifies the first solution admin for each Blackbaud solution. For more information about admins, see Admins Tasks.
The first solution admin receives a unique a unique email invitation to sign in and set up access. For more information, see First Admin Invitation Process.
Subsequent solution admins receive the invitation discussed in the next FAQ.
The content of email invitations depends on the recipient. For example, solution admins receive different invitations than regular users. But the process is the same when they create their Blackbaud IDs.

New users and admins receive auto-generated email invitations to access the Blackbaud solution. They must select Accept invitation.
Tip: If recipients can't select Accept invitation, they can select the URL or copy and paste it into a browser to accept the invitation.

A Blackbaud sign-in page appears with a link for the user to create their Blackbaud ID.
To use a different email address for their Blackbaud IDs, users can change the email address in the Blackbaud ID field.

After creating Blackbaud IDs, users and admins receive email to verify the email address. They must select Confirm email and enter their credentials.
Tip: To successfully sign in, users and admins must confirm the email address within 24 hours. If not, they're prompted to resend the email.

After confirming the email address, users and admins can then sign in to the Blackbaud solution for the first time.
If invitations or confirmation emails expire, users and admins are prompted to resend the applicable email when they try to sign in.
If you use multiple Blackbaud solutions and you're giving a user access for the first time, they will have access to the other solutions within several minutes. They don't receive and accept additional invitations.
For security and user management purposes, each user should have a unique Blackbaud ID. Don't share a Blackbaud IDs between multiple users.
Users can be redirected for the following reasons:

The user isn't linked to an account in the database view. To verify a user is linked, see Manage database view security.

The user accepted the invitation when signed in with a different Blackbaud ID

The invitation was previously accepted

The invitation was canceled by an admin

The URL was copied incorrectly from the invitation

The user attempted to accept the invitation from an email forward
