User Details
When admins select a user name in the list of users, the email address and assigned security appear for review.
When admins make users inactive or change their roles, the details on the Users page are not automatically updated. Refresh the browser to view the latest changes.
At the top of a user profile, admins can view the name and the email address associated with a user's Blackbaud ID. The credentials may be different than the ones originally used to send the invitation.
Admins can't update a user's name and email address from the profile. If a user signs in through Blackbaud's secure authentication service, they can manage their name and email address from their Blackbaud ID profile. If your organization sets up single sign-on (SSO) for Blackbaud IDs, the network administrator can manage user names and email addresses through the identity provider.
To make a user inactive, select Make inactive from the action bar. For more information, see Users.
To change roles for a user, select Manage roles. You can only assign one role per feature area.
When you edit a user to provide access to another feature area, they’ll have access to the area within several minutes without receiving and accepting another invitation.
Note: If you use multiple Blackbaud solutions, change the user's role for the feature area under its solution. If you're giving the user access to another solution for the first time, the user will have access within several minutes without receiving and accepting another invitation.
If you're removing access to a feature area and the user is logged in, it takes several minutes to automatically log the user out of the solution.
To link the user to a different one in the database view, select Manage roles. Under Security groups, select the X in search to remove the database view user and then search for the one you need. After you save, the users link.
Note: If the database user is linked to another user, they won't appear in search results.
To view or edit a user's access in the database view, select Manage security. For more information, see Database View Security Groups.
On the User history page, select a user's name to view their details. User audit history shows the most recent access-oriented actions related to the user and environment being viewed. The actions can include initiation actions, admin status changes, roles changes, name or email address changes. The two categories for actions:
-
Access changes - action affecting the user
-
Initiated actions - action performed by the user
If an internal Blackbaud process makes a change, "Blackbaud" appears under Actor in the Access changes section.
