Run the Advocacy Analysis Report

  1. Click Data Management > Reports to open Report Selection.

  2. Click the plus sign (+) beside the Advocacy Reports folder to display the folder contents.

  3. Click Advocacy Analysis Report to display the Configure Report Options page.

  4. Choose the Available Alert(s) you would like to include in this report. To include more than one, select one alert and then hold down the Ctrl key while you select additional alerts.

  5. Choose an Analysis Dimension for the report. This option determines the first few fields that appear in your report. (For details on what fields are included, see the section Viewing the Results.) Options include:

    • Analyze by Alert name, Recipient Type and Recipient Name

    • Analyze by Recipient Type, Recipient Name and Alert Name

    • Analyze by State, City and ZIP

    • Analyze by State, Federal District ID and ZIP

    • Analyze by State, State House District ID and ZIP

    • Analyze by State, State Senate District ID and ZIP

    • Analyze by Donor Status

    • Analyze by Source Code

  1. Choose an Initial Chart Type. (You will have the opportunity to click a link on the report and switch your view to the other type of chart, if desired.) Options include:

    • Pie Chart

    • Bar Chart

  1. Choose the Number of Categories to Show from the following options:

    • Show top 10 and summarize the rest (For example, if you choose to view alerts by geography, this choice limits the graphs to the top 10 states, plus a column for "Other.")

    • Show top 20 and summarize the rest (If you choose to view alerts by geography, this choice limits the graphs to the top 20 states, plus a column for "Other.")

    • Show all

  1. Choose an Initial Metric to Chart, determining which metric to show on the chart when the report first opens. (All of these fields will be listed as table columns at the bottom of the report, and you can click on each column heading to view that information projected onto the chart.)

    • Number of Responses (not available if you analyze by Alert Name, Recipient Type, and Recipient Name)

    • Number of Messages Sent

    • Number of Emails Sent

    • Number of Faxes Sent

    • Number of Printouts

    • Number of Calls Logged

  1. Choose a Response Date range:
    • Predefined Date Range (such as All Dates, This Month, This Calendar Year, This Fiscal Year, etc.)

    • Custom Date Range (choose exact dates from the date menus provided)

  1. Click Submit Report. The Advocacy Analysis Report displays.
