Design Elements

  • Layouts: Layouts control the overall site layout/wireframe. The number included will be dependent on the number of layouts needed to replicate Client’s visual design. Blackbaud assumes that responsive design will have no more than three (3) breakpoints. If additional breakpoints are desired, a Change Order may be required.
  • Cascading Style Sheet (CSS): Controls the look and feel of the design elements.
  • Template: Controls the look and feel of the design elements.

User/Profile Functionality

  • User Login Form: Login screen. Add-on functionality for retrieving forgotten user ID/passwords as well as new user registration.
  • Password Reminder Form: Text part providing the user’s forgotten login information.
  • New User Registration Form: Text part to welcome users after registration.
  • Change User ID/Password Form: Allows users to change their passwords.
  • User Profile Form: Constituent information is displayed from queries and/or business rules within RE/RENXT; admin selects what is viewable and editable from record; user updates and marks fields private, as applicable.
  • User Profile Update Confirmation: Text part to confirm profile update.
  • User Profile Display: Text part set up in table format for review of personal information and/or publicly available information on a user; link through to form before Profile Updates and/or from Directory search/display providing users the ability to drill-down for detailed data.
  • User Photos Form: Part allowing users to add one or more photos that can be included on a profile page.
  • Transaction Manager: Enables constituents to view a listing of their RE/RENXT gifts with the following details: date, gift type, campaign, fund, pledge balance, and pledge installments. The Transaction Manager part can allow registered and accepted BBNC users to make payments toward outstanding pledges.
  • User Interests Form: Captures users’ interests by allowing a checklist of attributes pulled from RE/RENXT.
  • Targeted Content: Admin can target website content (such as Donation Forms, for example) based on role.
  • Anonymous Newsletter Subscription: With the Anonymous Newsletter Subscription part, website visitors subscribe to a specific newsletter without becoming a registered user on your website.
  • Communication Consent: Use the Communication Consent part on online submission forms to collect constituent consent preferences. The consent preferences are saved to the constituent’s Consent record in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Email Signup: With the Email Signup part, users can sign up to receive emails from your organization without having to register or create a username/password.


  • Email Newsletter Template: eNewsletters may be designed in the tool and set to distribute automatically on schedule; email appeals and confirmation emails may be personalized to constituent base queried from RE/RENXT. Blackbaud will create a responsive eNewsletter template using a design created by Blackbaud and incorporating Client’s branding.
  • Email Autoresponder(s): Automatically sends an email acknowledgment for donations and event registrations.
  • User Email Preferences Form: Provides user opt-in and opt-out options for mass email subscriptions.
  • Privacy Policy: Displays Client's privacy policy and linked within all email messages.


  • Donation Form: Direct constituents to donation page(s) suited to their giving history, interest(s) or user login. Admin creates donation page with giving levels and RE/RENXT fund designation. 1.0 only allows Gift Attributes. Donation 2.0
    • Direct Debit,
    • Split Gifts,
    • Multiple transactions (aka shopping cart),
    • Reoccurring gifts where the user can select the start date or the org forces a start date.
  • Donation Form 2.0: Admin creates a donation page with giving levels and RE/RENXT fund designation. Donation 2.0
    • Allows both Constituent and Gift attributes on the form.
    • Automatically uses Blackbaud Checkout.
    • Support mobile payments (Apple Pay, etc).
    • Has more control over what fields are required, it can be fewer than 1.0
  • Payment Part: Allows website users to pay for multiple transactions with a single charge. May include a donation, event registration, and a membership purchase. Functionality to leave website and return to finish transactions at a later date.
  • Payment Part 2.0: Allows website users to pay for multiple transactions with a single charge. May include a donation, event registration, and a membership purchase. Functionality to leave website and return to finish transactions at a later date.

    The Payment Part 2.0 only functions with Donation Form 2.0 and Event Registration Form 2.0. For support of Donation Form (Classic), Event Registration Form (Classic) and Membership, Payment Part 1.0 must be utilized.
  • Payment Summary: Assists with the Payment part and displays information on the pending transactions for the user. Provides a link to the payment page.
  • Giving Search: Allows donors to search for funds instead of picking from a list.


  • Event Registration Form: Requires RE:Events. Events from RE/RENXT are displayed to all users or segments of constituents, with maximum capacity setting, free or at cost; multiple or single event registration committed with one credit card transaction; ability for user to register for single or multiple attendees.
  • Event Calendar: Add a calendar of events to the site, and assign management rights so that appropriate users have the ability to add, edit, and delete calendar events. Event names are hyperlinked so users can click them to read more information about the event.
  • Event Calendar Group: Top-level calendar that is fed from several sub-calendars. (Example: Whole school calendar fed from Upper, Middle, and Lower School Calendars.)
  • Event Calendar Highlights: Displays short descriptions of upcoming or prior events on any Web page or calendar.
  • Note — This part is not mobile-friendly and will not be presented in mobile responsive break-points.

Common Forms

  • Common Form: Creates an online form to collect information from website users. The available field types include text fields, text areas, radio button lists, checkboxes, checkbox lists, dropdown lists, and a special email field that sends confirmation email messages to users who enter email addresses. The common form also has the ability to accept a credit card fee. The common form part does not provide integration with RE. Completed forms can be viewed and exported into a .csv file within BBNC. Payment information can be tracked within an online merchant account.

    Note — Blackbaud will provide one standard form as an example that Client can use for creating additional custom forms.
  • Form Display Part: The Form Display part creates a landing page on your website to display one or more online forms that you create in the Forms section of BBNC. The administrator may also configure user login options for the web page where they place the part.

User Directory

  • Directory Part: Client may develop an unlimited number of directories based on RE/RENXT fields; searchable/displayed fields customized for type of directory; user access defined by security rights.
  • Quick Search Part: Search: Formatted Text and Images, Discussion Group, Event Calendar, Job Board, and Weblogs. When you add a Quick Search part to the Web page, a text box with a search button appears on the page for site users to search for information. Able to select the page in which search results display.
  • Search Part: Search results and advanced search options. Search for items in text, discussion groups, calendars, job board and weblogs. Results appear on the same page

Other BBNC Functionality

  • Formatted Text and Images: Used for general site content that contains text or photos from the image gallery.
  • Poll: Create and publish single question polls on the website. Display the graphical representation of the poll results - in progress and final numbers. Managers have complete control over the question and the responses, which can integrate back as constituent attributes.
  • Survey: Create surveys to learn more about the website's users. Once a survey is complete, a summary of responses is available for viewing, view response details, clear responses, and refresh the survey results on the Edit Part screen.
  • News Reader: XML-based formats for distributing and aggregating Web content (such as news headlines). Using RSS or Atom, Web content providers can easily create and disseminate feeds of data that include, for example, news links, headlines, and summaries.
  • Documents: Users may upload documents of interest, meeting minutes, publications, etc. based on Client specifications. Mobile presentation requires that minimal columns be exposed to improve usability on small screen devices.

    Note — this part has file size limitation of 4096 kb.
  • Job Board: Enables an area on the website where users can post job openings and search for available jobs. The two main components of the Job Board are the ability to search current listings for a specific entry, and the ability to add new jobs to the board.
  • Personal Notes: Users can manage their personal notes, including the ability for a user to add, edit, or delete a personal note on the record. Users can also search notes for others constituents.
  • Weblog: A Weblog is a place to collect or share interesting things - news about the organization, an appeal to constituents, or links to other websites. The Weblog enables Client to create a “blog” that can be updated by trusted members of the community, and to publish information in a format compatible with commercial news readers.


  • Email Reports: Set up of built-in BBNC email reports (email revenue summary, email activity). Using the Report (Email) part, capability to create reports for the website about email sent through BBNC.

  • Web Traffic Reports: Set up of built-in BBNC traffic reports (site usage, page rank, page view summary, page overview, visit summary, and visitor summary). Using the Report (Web Traffic) part, capability to create reports with statistics about the website’s traffic.

  • eCard Form: Allows Client to enable website users to browse, personalize, and send an electronic greeting card that contains content from a selected template. Client can offer eCards as a free service for website users or as an incentive to donate to the organization and help drive new traffic to the site.
  • eCard Template: eCard Templates store the eCard designs for the website. After creating an eCard template, you can use it with as many parts that contain eCard functionality as you want on your website. Blackbaud will implement an eCard template that mirrors the design of the acknowledgment email.


  • Membership Form: Requires RE:Member. Ties directly to the membership module of RE/RENXT. Many options are available to the site designer, including displaying current membership information, allowing renewals, selecting and configuring each membership category.


  • Volunteer Opportunity: Requires RE:Volunteer. Display volunteer jobs from RE/RENXT, allow registered users to sign up for a job position and allow the registrant to enter data relevant to the position.
