Hey, church leaders. Here at Blackbaud, we know that every interaction that someone has at your church matters. So in this short video we're going to sit down with Courtney, our product manager for Blackbaud Faith Solutions, to talk through some of the upcoming updates we'll be making to Blackbaud Church Management to make your life easier, to track every step of the journey in someone's faith life. Stay tuned.
Hey Courtney, thanks for joining me.
Hey, Joel. Of course.
So last time we talked, we talked about all the exciting stuff we did last year in 2019. And I'd love to hear more about all the exciting stuff we're going to do this year in 2020. There's so much exciting things coming online soon, very soon, and some
things this month.
That's awesome. What can we expect?
First off, we know churches want to keep track of and build relationships with their communities and congregations. I mean, that's the heart of a church management system. And coming in the next couple of months is the ability to auto add people to a
workflow based on specific triggers, like if a new member joins or if somebody makes their first offering.
It starts the relationship off on the right foot. So for example, new people will get a welcome email. And then the pastor is reminded to follow up, and can invite them to meet for coffee or something a few days later.
I'd definitely recommend coffee.
It not only helps churches welcome new people but also keep track of major life events like a baptism, or a wedding, really just trying to ensure that the staff is able to understand where a person is in their life. And they can even take the action of
assigning a relationship manager to people.
So something like a mentor?
Sort of. The relationship manager is a person that has had the most interactions with someone at the church, so they're responsible for stewarding them along on their faith journey. This way no step, need, or person slips through the cracks. We've also
got some updates coming to volunteer management too.
Cool. Like what?
So right now churches can set up and manage volunteer requirements, opportunities, schedule volunteers for those opportunities. They can even match up volunteers based off of needs that the church has, to skills for the volunteers. And coming soon, when
someone signs up as a volunteer, say as a parking lot attendant, or they're helping out in the children's ministry, they'll be able to get a notification as a reminder of when that date approaches. We know relationships aren't built in a one-hour
service each week. We want to make sure we're providing tools for the church to continue to maximize the rest of the hours that they have. Take small group management: now people can search for and identify a small group that works for them.
That's awesome. I know so many people who are so excited for that.
Definitely. And small group metrics are a big indicator of engagement, so we're really excited about that one. Also this quarter, small group leaders will be able to take attendance directly from our app, Mobile Mission, and receive push notification
reminders. This feature represents some really important element in our congregant engagement.
Courtney, you've shared so much with us and given me so much to think about.
I'm so excited about what this year is going to bring, especially to see what our church customers are able to do with the new features and capabilities we'll be delivering to them.
