Product Updates to Stay Connected
Blackbaud Church Management
Churches all over the world hosted their Easter services as virtual gatherings this year, which was a huge shift for most congregations. But as churches are settling into gathering virtually, we are all learning new things and surfacing new ideas for technology to help support virtual connection. Churches around the world are learning new ways to build connections with their congregations digitally and reaching new people amidst changing circumstances. But that means the need to stay connected is more important than ever.
Our product team has been busy making updates in response to customer feedback, including new functionality that makes it easier for church communities to connect virtually.
Small Group Meeting Updates
Many small groups are meeting online using virtual meeting services such as Zoom or Google Hangouts. Small group leaders can now quickly share online meeting links with their group participants from MobileMission or their small group leader pages.
Users can simply go to the Small Group Leader Link page, paste a Zoom or Hangout URL into the “Location” field and it will auto detect that it is a virtual meeting and add the button for the “Share Virtual Meeting” link.
Churches are not only responding to the need to accept tithes and offerings virtually, but many are also responding to the financial needs of their communities and raising support for specific COVID-19 relief efforts. Managing giving should be easy, for both the church staff and the givers! That’s why we’ve made a number of enhancements and improvements to donation forms and gift receipts. For instance, users can now specify when the first recurring gift payments should process for donation forms – they can choose whether the first recurring gift payments process immediately or on a specific date. This applies in MobileMission as well.
Additionally, churches can now add an organization gift component to their donation forms, thus enabling businesses or organizations to give easily via the online form. They can also now easily view metrics from donation forms such as total transactions, one-time transactions, page views, and more, to see how donation forms are performing.
And, church staff can now provide consolidated receipts via email to provide givers with a comprehensive view of their giving for a year, quarter, month, or other specified date range.
Coming soon! Virtual Prayer Wall
In the absence of meeting in person, another need that has come up is the need to stay connected through prayer. So coming soon, we will be releasing a new Prayer Wall that allows people to ask for prayer, and pray for the needs of others in their church. We look forward to bringing you more updates soon!
