Hey church leaders! You read in our previous blog post that we made several updates to help churches stay connected during this time. Thanks to valuable feedback from our church customers, our team has stayed busy making additional improvements in response to your great ideas.
More Updates to Stay Connected
We recently released a new prayer request wall that supports both public and private prayer requests to help keep people connected. We also built new functionality that makes it possible for group leaders to email participants and chaperones directly from a class in Church Management! This is super important, as leaders may be communicating at-home assignments, virtual class meetings, and re-opening plans.
Updates for When it is Time to Re-Open
And speaking of re-opening plans, we have been inspired by how so many churches are taking a creative approach to re-starting gatherings, from virtual meetings to socially distanced or outdoor services. We know that when you do go back to church, it will be more important than ever to make sure that Sunday morning runs smoothly. That is why we have taken user feedback and improved the experience for when kids or adults are checking themselves in from a kiosk station. So now when you are back to meeting in person, the check-in navigation buttons are bigger and more intuitive, making self-check-in easier to use overall.
Improvements to Volunteer Management
And when churches do re-open their physical doors, we know that volunteers are a huge part of running the show. We added the ability to filter available volunteers by position and team. Now when volunteers are added to an opportunity, you can narrow the list to only volunteers that match a specific position or team. Those that don’t meet the requirements, such as a background check, are filtered out by default. And now, your church staff can text or email volunteers directly from the solution. Plus, you will be able to schedule a recurring volunteer for a series, like if someone wants to volunteer every Sunday. Also coming soon is simplified recurring volunteer scheduling and an improved volunteer approval workflow.
Tracking Attendance Trends
We have also updated the Congregation Summary so that you can view attendance trends and averages over time, providing visibility into which types of events are most well-attended, or perhaps even providing strategic insight into how attendance trends have shifted over the last few months.
More Updates Coming Soon
So what else is coming soon? Keep an eye on the updates page for the latest, but we can say with confidence we have some really cool updates coming! For example, we added another level to workflows that builds off that idea of smarter strategy. Coming soon, if someone makes a first-time gift, or a large gift, you can set up an automatic follow-up for acknowledgement triggered, to help keep visitors and members engaged.
And this summer, we will be kicking off the early adopter program for our congregant portal. This is where church attendees can set up their own accounts and self-service certain interactions, such as managing their giving or updating their congregant profile. The feedback we receive on the portal this Summer will help us speed up its development and make sure that what we’re building is aligned with the priorities of the churches we support.
