Reporting is where you create and run reports in Financial Edge NXT. Reporting leverages existing reports and settings defined in the database view. For example, the reports and tags you created in the database view, also appear in Financial Edge NXT.
You can reorder the columns in the Reports list by dragging and dropping the column headers. To change the column headers, click Choose columns, select what to include, and click Apply changes. To quickly locate the report you want, use the search field and filters. For information about these filters, see Report Filters.
Use the tabs in Reporting to efficiently manage your reports. All of your existing reports appear on the All reports tab.
All reports — This tab displays all reports in the system, regardless of who created them.
Recently run — This tab displays the reports run in the last 31 days by the logged in user. Reports on this tab are updated only when that user runs the reports in Financial Edge NXT.
Frequently run — This tab displays the reports run at least four times in the last 31 days by the logged in user. Reports on this tab are updated only when that user runs the reports in Financial Edge NXT.
Favorites — This tab displays the reports marked as favorites by the logged in user. To mark a report as a favorite, select next to the report name, then Add to favorites. A star appears next to reports marked as favorites.
Note: The "Last run" date is the most recent date that any user ran the report. The same Last run date in Financial Edge NXT also appears in the database view.
You can add a new report from the Reports list page in Financial Edge NXT. When you add a new report in the web view, it is also available the database view. For detailed information, see Add a Report.
To quickly locate a specific report, enter the name of the report in the search field. If you do not know the exact name, you can enter a partial name in the field. To view all possible matches, select the search icon in the field.
To run a report, simply click next to the report you want to run, then Run. When you run reports, a small status screen now appears in the bottom right hand corner of the page as the report processes. When the report is ready, you can select the View report to access the report .
Tip: When viewing reports, you can use the active links in the report to view additional information about a specific record. Keep in mind, you can view only the records to which you have security rights.
Over time the report parameters you save may become invalid or no longer needed. You can easily delete these reports from the Reports list in Reporting. To delete a report, simply click next to the report you want to delete, then select Delete. When you delete a report, you completely remove it from the web view and database view.
Tip: To delete multiple reports at once, mark the checkboxes next to the reports and select Delete reports. You can also mark the checkbox at the top of the list to select all reports in the list at one time.
Keep in mind, you can delete only the reports to which you have security rights.
We recommend you familiarize yourself with the options available on the context menu accessed from the Reports list. These options include Run, Edit, Export, and Delete. For detailed information about each option available, see Report Options.
The reports and tags that you see in Financial Edge NXT were created in the database view.
When running an Income Statement, Balance Sheet, or Custom Management report, please pay close attention to the report totals. In some instances, the cent amount, or text, can be truncated because the font size is larger in Financial Edge NXT than it is in the database view.
To resolve this issue, you can adjust the column size for the report.
When viewing a report, if an account number has drill-down functionality and displays any masked segments, when you select the account link to drill down, you will be taken to the first account containing information.
The report parameters you set up and maintain in the database view appear in Financial Edge NXT. Likewise, when you edit a report's parameters in Financial Edge NXT, those changes appear in the database view.
You can use the active links in a report to view additional information about a specific record. Keep in mind, you can view only the records to which you have security rights.
