For context of why donors give, we recommend you track their affiliations with your organization — such as Board member or Volunteer — as constituent codes on their records. Under Gifts by constituent code from Fundraising, Analyze, Overview, you can break down giving by the donors' primary constituent codes.
Tip: With the Revenue type filter, you can choose whether to analyze revenue received through cash-in-hand giving or committed through pledges and matching gifts. For more information, see Revenue Types.
The Gifts total provides how many gifts donors of each constituent code gave, based on the filters.
The Revenue total provides how much donors of each constituent code gave, based on the filters.
Tip: By default, these totals include giving from the past seven calendar days. To analyze giving from another date range or related to specific campaigns, funds, or appeals, use the filters under Giving.
To view a list of gifts included in the number-crunching, select the total or metric. For further analysis, select Create list to open the list in Lists, where you can apply additional filters, choose columns, and save for future reuse. For more information, see Lists.
With this information, you can quickly gauge which donors are engaged and have a larger impact on your fundraising efforts. To help increase giving, we recommend you prioritize interactions with your engaged donors and craft targeted appeals and communications to strengthen relationships with those who're less engaged.
Tip: A donor may have many affiliations with our organization, and their primary constituent code may not reflect their motivation to give. For additional context of why someone gives, we recommend you track the applicable constituent code on their gifts. For more information, see Gift and Marketing Codes.
