To help cultivate relationships, you can pin a note to the top of a constituent or opportunity record to summarize information you find valuable, such as a donor’s personal details and history with your organization. With this summary, you can have a general understanding of the constituent or opportunity at a glance, such as when you prepare for an interaction.
Tip: To give instructions for a constituent's record, such as a reminder to contact the fundraiser before updating the record or to handle a high-priority constituent with care, set an alert rather than a summary note. For information, see Alerts.
If your organization already has a note to summarize its relationship with a constituent, you can pin it to the top of the constituent's record. In the database view, select the Notes tab on the constituent's record and change the note's type to RE NXT Summary. In the web view, the note appears in the summary at the top of the record.
If your organization already has a note that summarizes an opportunity, you can pin it to the top of the record in the web view. In the database view, open the opportunity's proposal record from the Prospect tab of the constituent’s record, select the Notes tab, and change the note’s type to RE NXT Opportunity Summary. In the web view, the note automatically appears in the summary at the top of the record.
Note: The RE NXT Opportunity Summary note type is available in the database view after you add a summary note to an opportunity in the web view. If a proposal in the database view has multiple notes of this type, the one most recently edited appears in the web view.
To pin a new summary note to a record, select Add summary note, enter the summary details, and select Save.
To update a summary note, select its Edit , revise as necessary, and select Save.
Note: In the database view, summary notes appear as constituent notes with a type of RE NXT Summary or proposal notes with a type of RE NXT Proposal Summary.
