K-12 Advisory Board

Susan Wayland is the founder of Strategic Finance Advisory, LLC (“SFA”). SFA serves independent schools and nonprofits, providing interim CFO/COO services, strategic financial planning, and consulting to schools on best practices for business offices. Susan has more than 30 years of experience leading the finance function in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

She holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from Golden Gate University where she has also taught undergraduate and graduate level business finance courses. Board memberships include Blackbaud Software K-12 Division Advisory Board, Independent School Data Exchange (INDEX) and serving as the Board Chair for a nonprofit equine therapy organization, Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Susan is an avid equestrian, riding her horse, Wish Granted, whenever she can. She lives on the Central Coast of California with her partner, Mark, and their rescue dog, Lucy.
