Everydayhero™ and Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series Unite To Empower More People to Give Back

Partnership offers Rock ‘n’ Roll event participants a seamless fundraising experience

Charleston, S.C.(July 23, 2014) – Everydayhero, an innovative, cloud-based crowdfunding service from Blackbaud, Inc. (NASDAQ: BLKB), today announced a partnership with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, the world’s largest running series, to expand fundraising opportunities for the 500,000 runners who participate annually. For select Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon events, participants will easily be able to choose their favorite cause and begin fundraising directly from the registration process. The partnership will immediately allow runners to choose from a large database of registered 501c(3) charities, with access to a suite of tools, feedback and support to guide participants throughout the fundraising process.

“We pioneered multi-charity event fundraising in Australia and have seen firsthand how it helps turn fitness-events into powerful forces for good,” said Simon Lockyer, cofounder at everydayhero. “Our experience illustrates that offering a variety of charities for participants to support makes them more likely to fundraise and increases our collective impact, especially for small and mid-size charities. We are thrilled to help the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon community give more to the causes they are passionate about.”

To date, Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon participants have raised more than $300M for nonprofits. Integrating everydayhero into the Rock ‘n’ Roll registration process empowers participants to take the reins and start their fundraising journey with all the tools and support they need. Now, when participants register for an event, they will have the ability to begin fundraising with a few clicks. Additionally, participants will see how their event training contributes to their fundraising effort and overall Giving Footprint.  By tracking the miles run, hours trained and calories burned within the everydayhero platform, participants can see the full impact of their efforts for a cause. Everydayhero and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series are making it easier than ever for participants to combine their training and race experience with giving back to important causes.

“Charity is at the ‘Heart of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and we’re thrilled to partner with everydayhero to offer participants yet another way to get excited about running,” said Dave Hussa, vice president of charity partnerships for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series. “Integrating everydayhero into our registration platform will make it even easier for participants to run for a reason, beyond living a healthy and active lifestyle.”

Because everydayhero also integrates with Blackbaud’s nonprofit CRM solution, The Raiser’s Edge©, many nonprofits who are beneficiaries of the race will have seamless visibility into donations that result from the events, which allows them to thank and further engage supporters in the future with ease.

“The inclusion of everydayhero in the race experience is further confirmation of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series’ commitment to make the world a better place through racing,” said Tracy Evans, National Director — Team In Training, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “This program gives everyone in a race the opportunity to have an enhanced training experience while making their personal race endeavors more meaningful.  The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society looks forward to celebrating thousands of everyday heroes through their journey at upcoming Rock ‘n’ Roll races.”

Everydayhero is integrated with an ecosystem of applications and tools — including MapMyFitness, VolunteerMatch, Twitter and Facebook — that people use every day, and often in conjunction with a fundraising effort. Information from these tools and apps is aggregated, tracked and visualized in an individual’s Giving Footprint, which shows the true impact of their efforts for a cause over time.
