Blackbaud Honors Juneteenth Through Reflection, Learning, and Community Engagement
Blackbaud is observing Juneteenth (June 19), commemorating the day in 1865 when the last enslaved individuals in the United States learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. This pivotal moment in history continues to shape conversations around freedom, resilience, and progress.
As part of this year’s observance, Blackbaud employees are engaging in opportunities to reflect, learn, and give back, including an educational webinar exploring Juneteenth through historical and forward-looking perspectives and a virtual volunteer activity connecting individuals experiencing food insecurity with local resources.
The observance also extends beyond internal programming through Blackbaud’s latest “What Fuels You?” Vodcast episode featuring Andrew Troup, Chief Impact Officer, YourCause from Blackbaud® and Dr. Tonya Matthews, CEO & Executive Director of the International African American Museum. The conversation highlights the importance of preserving and sharing African American history and culture for future generations.
Recognizing Juneteenth as a US holiday and supporting opportunities for reflection and engagement are among the ways Blackbaud continues to foster a global company culture rooted in inclusion, respect, and shared understanding—both within the workplace and across the communities it serves.
