Pride Month at Blackbaud: Honoring Progress Through Leadership and Belonging
Pride Month is a time to honor the LGBTQIA+ community—and to reflect on the progress made toward greater inclusion and belonging in the workplace and beyond. At Blackbaud, that commitment is core to our culture, encouraging employees to show up fully as themselves.
That culture is brought to life by employees who turn shared values into everyday actions. Leaders within Blackbaud’s PRIDE Affinity Group play an important role in building connection, strengthening community, and ensuring a sense of belonging is felt across teams and experiences.
For Nichols Condon, Principal Customer Success Manager at Blackbaud, that responsibility is both clear and deeply meaningful.
“My responsibility as a PRIDE Affinity Group leader is to make sure no one feels invisible,” Nichols shared. “That means showing up consistently, listening deeply, and creating spaces where every voice matters.”
When that happens, the impact is felt across both culture and work. “When people feel safe to show up as their whole selves, the work is better, the relationships are deeper, and the impact is real,” Nichols added.
That connection between belonging and impact is shared across Blackbaud’s leadership.
“Belonging isn’t created in a single moment, it’s built through how we show up for each other every day,” said Dale Strange, President, Corporate Impact, Blackbaud. “It’s about showing up with empathy, listening to different perspectives, and being intentional about creating space where people feel respected and valued for who they are.”
As Blackbaud continues to innovate, that same mindset shapes how teams lead and build for the future.
“Innovation without inclusion is just optimization,” said Kevin McDearis, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, and co-chair of the Sustainability and Inclusion Council at Blackbaud. “The products our customers rely on are better because of the range of people who shape them. That’s not a cultural value separate from the work. It is the work.”
At the company level, this shows up in intentional, ongoing ways.
“Pride Month is a strong reminder that inclusion is more than a moment. It’s a commitment we live every day,” said Maggie Driscoll, Chief People and Culture Officer, Blackbaud. “We are proud to foster a culture where employees feel seen, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. When we embrace our similarities and differences, we strengthen our teams, our community, and the impact we make together.”
Throughout Pride Month, that commitment extends to how Blackbaud supports customers and the communities they serve, from amplifying voices to supporting organizations working to create connection and visibility.
At Blackbaud, Pride Month is both a celebration and a reflection of how we show up—leading with inclusion, belonging, and purpose.
