Below is a comprehensive summary of what we announced during the May 2026 briefings.
Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT®
AI‑Powered Assistance Embedded in Daily Work: Financial Edge NXT expands practical AI capabilities that help finance teams work faster and smarter without disrupting established controls. Chat for Blackbaud AI (Early Adopter Program) enables natural‑language help, guided navigation, record summaries, and AI‑powered record lookup—making it easier to find information and understand records without interrupting day‑to‑day work.
Document Intelligence That Reduces Manual Effort: AI‑powered Document Intelligence continues to expand across payables and expense workflows, extracting data from invoices and expense documents to create ready‑to‑review records. Upcoming inbox automation capabilities will further streamline invoice intake from email, reducing sorting and data entry while preserving established review and approval processes.
Smarter, Faster Data Imports with AI: Import Smart Mapping uses AI to automatically match fields and highlight potential issues, saving time and improving accuracy during data loads. Additional enhancements are designed to further automate imports through intelligent detection, error correction, and scheduling.
Stronger Accountability and Close Confidence: New capabilities improve transparency and audit readiness, including the GL Reconciliation Tracker (Limited Availability), Allocation Groups for automated sequencing, Accounts Receivable recurring invoices, and expanded Payment Assistant™ functionality for improved vendor payments and tracking.
Actionable Insight Without Added Manual Work: Intelligent homepage insights, Closing Assistant enhancements, and automated report grouping and scheduling help finance teams spend less time assembling information and more time analyzing and acting on it.
YourCause® from Blackbaud
AI Embedded to Improve Admin Efficiency: Across YourCause CSRconnect and GrantsConnect, Blackbaud is embedding AI directly into administrative workflows to help program teams work faster and with greater clarity. New generative-AI chat experiences will streamline the creation of Engagement Elements and volunteer events, while AI-powered Grant Summaries will give evaluators a faster starting point by highlighting key application details and alignment to program goals, reducing manual review time without disrupting governance.
AI Enhancements for the Employee Experience: Upcoming AI enhancements in CSRconnect will make it easier for employees to discover meaningful ways to give and volunteer. Intelligent Search and personalized recommendations leverage employee activity and cause interests, alongside Blackbaud’s proprietary nonprofit intelligence in Blackbaud Verified Network, to surface opportunities based on desired impact rather than requiring users to search for a specific organization.
Transforming Giving with Faster Funds and Greater Transparency: Later this year, Expedited Giving will enable funds to reach nonprofits in as little as two days, significantly reducing time-to-impact for employee and employer contributions. This is paired with the launch of the new Processing Portal, a first-of-its-kind experience that gives program administrators increased visibility and control over charitable funds, improving transparency, simplifying reconciliation, and reducing administrative effort across the giving lifecycle.
Expanding the Ecosystem through Platform Extensibility: In addition to feature innovation, platform extensibility remains a major focus for YourCause in 2026. This includes the launch of SKY API for GrantsConnect, providing 25+ endpoints to support custom integrations, as well as continued modernization of partner APIs in CSRconnect—enabling integrations with partners such as Visit.org and Goodera. Additional ecosystem investments include 70+ HRIS integrations, Microsoft Teams and Slack integrations, and Adobe Sign for grants, expanding how customers connect YourCause into their broader technology stack.
Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®
Prospect Insights Pro Enhancements Strengthen Long‑Term Pipeline Health and Grow Major‑Gift Portfolios: Blackbaud announced new enhancements to Prospect Insights Pro that include more accurate, adaptive predictions that learn from an organization’s own donor data and more frequent score refreshes to reflect new giving activity. New filtering and list‑building options give teams more control over how they review and segment prospects. Together, these enhancements reduce the time spent sorting data and help teams focus on building meaningful donor relationships.
AI-Powered Intelligent Assistance Embedded in Daily Work: To make insights easier to access and act on, Blackbaud introduced Chat for Blackbaud AI available to all Raiser’s Edge NXT customers. This conversational assistant lets users ask questions in plain language and get immediate, context‑aware guidance based on their own data. Chat for Blackbaud AI helps surface insights, summarizes donor history, suggests next steps, and generates communication drafts without switching tools or digging through reports.
AI Cultivation Assistant Helps Frontline Fundraisers Do More with Less: Once major gift prospects are identified, Blackbaud AI accelerates gift cultivation by creating opportunity records and generating unique, multi-step action plans to secure the gift. And at each step of the action plan, AI strategies synthesize giving, engagement, preferences, and connections in AI-generated donor briefings. These briefings help deepen relationships and save hours of research time needed to prepare fundraisers for conversations and correspondence.
AI Strategy Assistant Helps Fundraising Leaders Understand Performance and Decide Next Steps: Data science‑powered benchmarks help executives understand how their organization is performing compared to similar peers across four essential areas: revenue growth, sustainer performance, active donor growth, and revenue per donor. Then Strategy Assistant helps them turn these insights into action. Chat for Blackbaud AI supports natural language exploration of results, highlights opportunities to improve acquisition or retention, and helps leaders align strategy and outreach with donor capacity — all without digging through reports or spreadsheets.
New AI‑Driven Giving Society Programs Simplify Donor Recognition: Blackbaud introduced new capabilities to strengthen donor recognition while reducing operational overhead. With the new Recognition Programs capability, organizations will have more efficient tools to develop and manage giving societies honoring each supporter’s unique journey. This program focuses on four key types of giving societies—Legacy, Lifetime, Loyalty, and Annual—reducing the effort involved in running these initiatives with customized rules and goals, real-time tracking and constituent management.

Development Agent is designed to support end‑to‑end fundraising tasks inside the CRM, learning organizational context, individualizing donor outreach at scale, logging actions automatically in the system of record, and escalating appropriately for human oversight. This approach reinforces Blackbaud’s commitment to responsible, secure AI that augments fundraising teams rather than replacing them.

Blackbaud Billing Management™
Blackbaud introducing Billing Management Collections Assistant: Blackbaud is introducing an AI‑powered capability designed to help K–12 schools improve cash flow by reducing late payments—without adding work for staff. Currently in Controlled Technology Preview (CTP), with an Early Adopter Program (EAP) coming soon, Collections Assistant brings past‑due student billing data into a single view, helping teams quickly see what needs attention. Powered by Blackbaud AI, it generates personalized follow‑up emails that are automatically logged to each student’s billing profile, ensuring timely, consistent, and well‑documented communication with families. By combining unified billing data with AI‑assisted outreach, Collections Assistant helps schools take a more proactive, thoughtful approach to collections while preserving strong family relationships.
Billing Management Refunds Allows Schools to Process Refunds Directly Within Platform: This functionality eliminates the need for physical checks and manual workarounds. Business offices can issue refunds efficiently while keeping accounts payable balances accurate, streamlined, and fully visible. By handling refunds in‑product, schools maintain cleaner financial records, reduce reconciliation effort, and deliver a smoother experience for both staff and families.
Blackbaud Tuition Management™
Tuition Information Letter (TIL) Statements Improve Compliance and Reduce Work: A top‑voted Idea Bank request is now built directly into Tuition Management. Schools can now generate TIL statements within the product, improving compliance while eliminating manual, time‑consuming work. By streamlining TIL generation in‑product, Tuition Management helps business offices operate more efficiently and with greater confidence during critical reporting periods.
In Product Refunds Improve Processes: School administrators can refund payments directly within the platform—no physical checks, no manual workarounds. Payments can be returned quickly and accurately, without relying on offsetting fees to reverse transactions. By handling refunds in‑product, Tuition Management helps business offices save time, reduce errors, and maintain clearer, more accurate financial records.
Blackbaud Financial Aid Management™
Refreshed Parent User Interface: This update delivers a more modern, intuitive experience aligned with today’s expectations. The updated design guides families through the financial aid process clearly and confidently, from start to finish. By simplifying navigation and improving clarity at every step, the refreshed experience helps schools reduce friction for families while supporting a smoother, more transparent financial aid journey.
Blackbaud Enrollment Management System
New Family Login Enhancement: First impressions matter—especially during the application process. That’s why we’ve enhanced the new family login experience in Blackbaud Education Management. The updated login supports more types of users, including families from Blackbaud feeder schools, and reduces the need for manual intervention by school staff. A simpler, clearer login screen helps first‑time applicants get started quickly and confidently removing barriers and improving conversion from the very first step.
On-Demand School Forms: Assigning school forms shouldn’t feel like a project. With on‑demand school forms, each form comes with a shareable URL that you can email to families or post where it makes sense—like your Resource Board. Anyone with the link can fill out the form, no assignment required. It’s an easier experience for families and less administrative work for your team. Simple, flexible, and efficient.
Blackbaud Student Information System and Blackbaud Learning Management
Grading Modernization: Grading is a critical part of everyday school operations—and it shouldn’t feel complicated. That’s why we’ve modernized grading in Blackbaud Education Management, replacing legacy experiences with a cleaner, more intuitive SKY interface. Schools can now enter grades by class, manage grade categories, and configure skills‑based grading periods all in one streamlined experience. We also updated the language used throughout grading settings, so everything feels more familiar and easier to understand. The result: less time configuring, less confusion, and more confidence in how grades are managed.
Lockdown Browser: Online assessments play an important role in today’s classrooms—and schools need confidence that results reflect student learning. LockDown Browser helps by securing high‑stakes exams and preventing access to outside resources during testing. It integrates directly with Blackbaud Education Management, so schools can enable it on existing assessments without rebuilding anything. Available as an optional add‑on for $1,999 per year, LockDown Browser can be purchased directly in Education Management and is automatically applied to your existing contract—making it easy to add security without added complexity.
Assignments: Teachers juggle a lot—and assignments shouldn’t slow them down. That’s why we redesigned the assignments experience in Blackbaud Learning Management. The new interface makes it faster and easier to create, manage, and grade assignments, while smart scheduling automatically connects due dates to class meeting times. Teachers can also personalize their experience with expanded preferences they can set once and trust going forward. And when students submit work, it appears automatically in the LMS—so everything stays organized without extra effort.
Student Success Insights enables schools to identify and support students who may be at risk by defining calculations based on data from across the Student Information and Learning Management Systems. This upcoming feature helps schools move beyond manual reporting, providing clearer insight into student status and allowing staff to focus more time on meaningful support.
Common Records Engine reduces duplicate data entry and helps eliminate errors by creating a single source of truth for shared biographical information across systems. This will replace Connect RE and will help keep common data—such as names, addresses, and relationships—automatically synchronized between Blackbaud K-12 Solutions and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT. By connecting records across offices, Common Records Engine ensures teams are working with accurate, up‑to‑date information without relying on manual updates or reconciliation. This enables more connected workflows, improves confidence in data quality, and frees staff to focus on higher‑value work rather than record maintenance. Common Records Engine is currently available through an Early Adopter Program, with general availability planned by the end of June.

Additionally, it will reduce administrative friction, incomplete submissions, and manual support effort to needed to improve applicant conversions from start to finish.
Accessibility Improvements: Blackbaud Award Management has completed significant accessibility remediation efforts focused on keyboard navigation, screen reader support, focus order, and clear labeling—bringing the solution closer to WCAG 2.1 standards. These updates help create a more inclusive, usable experience for all users while giving institutions greater confidence in meeting accessibility expectations and compliance requirements.
