Genesis Women’s Shelter Goes Live with an Interactive Website in One Month and Sees Increase in Donations and Visitors

Genesis Women’s Shelter provides quality safety and shelter to battered women and their children through crisis intervention and short term crisis therapeutics.  The Dallas-based organization is committed to raising the level of community awareness regarding the pervasiveness and effects of domestic violence and reducing the occurrence of violence against women and children in the greater Dallas area.

The Challenge:

• To support its goals of providing resources for the community and in support of its fundraising and online engagement efforts, Genesis Women’s Shelter needed to build a fully-interactive website where visitors could become online members, easily make donations, volunteer, and learn about news and events based on their individual interests.
• The organization also needed a solution that would integrate with its existing constituent relationship management solution, The Raiser’s Edge.
• With a project goal of designing, building, and launching its site in one month, the organization needed to select a vendor that would partner with them to support their aggressive project timeline.

The Solution:

• Genesis Women’s Shelter selected Blackbaud NetCommunity Grow to reach new donors online, inspire more support with a user-friendly and professional site, and build an online community to engage its web visitors.

• Since Blackbaud NetCommunity Grow is fully integrated with The Raiser’s Edge, Genesis will be able to streamline processes and cut down on valuable staff time spent on administrative tasks, while allowing its supporters to have a customized, targeted online experience.

The Results:

• In one month, Genesis Women's Shelter went live with its new website at www.genesisshelter.org.
• The site now serves as a valuable resource in educating the Dallas community about domestic violence and providing resources for receiving and providing assistance. The site also features an online community, an events calendar, donation and volunteer opportunities, and an online order form for its Creating Comfort Cookbook.
• The organization has seen an increase in donations and website traffic, and has seen visitors connecting through the web in new ways.
