Blackbaud Newsroom

Welcoming the January 2021 Cohort of the Blackbaud Social Good Startup Program

Blackbaud is delighted to announce the newest members of the Social Good Startup Program in its January 2021 cohort. As part of our commitment to expanding the Ecosystem of Good®, Blackbaud launched the Social Good Startup Challenge in October 2019 for early-stage software companies focused on solving problems that matter to the social good community. As part of Blackbaud’s commitment to equality, we partnered with OpportunityHub to focus our recruitment efforts for the January 2021 cohort on early-stage software companies with at least one founder who is a person of color.

The winners of this challenge have developed innovative products to improve the outcomes of mission-based organizations and show strong potential for providing Blackbaud customers with added value through complementary solutions. The program will provide founders with a scholarship to a virtual accelerator, a team inside Blackbaud to help provide strategic, technical and marketing support, and grant funding to cover integration and other costs associated with making their product more accessible to Blackbaud customers.

“As a market leader, Blackbaud is in a unique position to provide these promising social impact startups with an advantage at a critical stage in their growth,” said Roz Lemieux, senior director, platform product management at Blackbaud. “Our vision is to power an Ecosystem of Good® that builds a better world. These innovative startups bring fresh perspectives and creative solutions to the table—and the world needs that now more than ever.”

“The Social Good Startup Program complements our investment in the Blackbaud SKY® platform, which is designed to ensure our customers have flexibility, choice and greater value with Blackbaud’s best-in-class, purpose-built solutions,” said Meredith Johnson, Vice President of Product Management at Blackbaud. “It’s a win-win-win, for our customers, our startup partners and Blackbaud.”
